Welcome to Wales for the 2026 UEFA European Under-19 Championship finals! It is a pleasure to return to a country where passion for the game runs deep and where great occasions are embraced with warmth, pride and unique energy.

My heartfelt thanks go to the Football Association of Wales (FAW), its president, Mike Jones, and UEFA vice-president, Laura McAllister, for their commitment and hard work in preparing what promises to be an outstanding tournament.

The U19 EURO occupies a special place in European football. It is often here that gifted young players take the decisive step from promise to genuine international recognition, as so many outstanding careers have shown.

That gives this tournament a special intensity, because there is much more at stake than just a trophy. It is a meeting point between the present and the future of the European game. And with UEFA EURO 2028 on the horizon, Wales offers an exceptionally fitting stage for the stars of tomorrow to announce themselves.

It would not come as a surprise for the ones who shine the brightest to return here for the most important of football stages in a couple of years. I wish all eight finalists every success and a tournament to remember. May the best team win

Mike Jones, FAW president

Croeso i Gymru. Welcome to Wales and in particular the dramatic and picturesque landscape of North Wales. Everyone at the FAW is incredibly proud to be hosting the European Under-19 Championship across Bangor, Caernarfon, Denbigh and Wrexham, which is the birthplace of the FAW. Hosting this tournament is part of our 150th anniversary celebrations.

The FAW’s story is inseparable from the story of Welsh football itself: a proud national journey rooted in community, identity and ambition, shaped by generations of players, volunteers and supporters, and defined by the growth of the game in every corner of Wales.

With that in mind, I would very much like to thank the communities, volunteers and supporters across the North Wales region for helping us to make what I’m sure will be a fantastic U19 EURO.

The players we will see across the championship are the next generation to take the ever-increasing popularity of football further forward.

Good luck to all the participating nations for what I’m sure will be an entertaining tournament.
