Panathinaikos FC have signed VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach's midfield player Markus Münch.
UEFA Champions League contenders Panathinaikos FC have signed VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach's left-sided midfield player Markus Münch on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old German, who has already had spells playing outside his home country for former Serie B side Genoa 1893 in Italy and Turkish Super League outfit Besiktas JK, has signed a one-year deal with an option for a further season's extension.
Münch, who began his career at FC Bayern München, scored seven goals in 45 league appearances for Mönchengladbach since joining the club in 2001. This most recent move was prompted by Finnish wideman Joonas Kolkka's transfer in the other direction earlier in the summer - and Münch is expected to join up with his new colleagues today in Switzerland, where the Panathinaikos squad is preparing for the new season.
