Article body
Three-year contract
Lee will arrive at San Sebastián at the end of this week to undergo a medical and sign a three-year contract with an option for a further year. The 21-year-old will become the first player from Korea to play in Spain's First Division.
Key performer
A key performer for his national team at last year's FIFA World Cup finals, Lee helped the co-hosts shock the football world by finishing fourth, after knocking out Spain in the quarter-finals and losing to Germany in the semi-finals. He is Real's second summer signing, after the arrival of midfield player Bittor Alkiza from Athletic Club Bilbao, as they prepare for next season's UEFA Champions League campaign.
