Here uefa.com rounds up the reaction from the clubs.
VfB Stuttgart v Chelsea FC
Stuttgart manager Ulrich Ruf: We are very happy to have come so far in the competition. We will savour both matches and will do our absolute best to qualify. Admittedly, playing the second leg away from home will be hard but this will not affect our chances. We have lots of talented young players but they are gathering experience on every step of this journey.
Chelsea secretary David Barnard: We knew there would be no easy games and Stuttgart will be tough to beat. They are well known in England after their victory over Manchester United FC in Germany so we will certainly not be underestimating them. The first leg will be interesting because we showed in the group stages we can perform anywhere by winning all our away games.
FC Porto v Manchester United FC
United secretary Ken Merrett: Whoever we got it was going to be a tough game but Porto are certainly one of the harder fixtures we could have faced. Any side who wins the UEFA Cup is going to be strong but we are confident we can win the game over two legs. We beat them the last time we faced them and would settle for the same scoreline again.
Porto coach José Mourinho: I certainly am happy. It will be great that the first European match played at our new Dragão Stadium will be against Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League. In Brazil, they say you're not a player or coach if you haven't played in the Maracanã. I think we can say the same thing for Old Trafford.
RC Celta de Vigo v Arsenal FC
Celta director Fernando Mosquera: We thought we would get a big team which would give us the chance to claim a big scalp. Our group wasn't easy but we got through and deserved it. The players have got used to the Champions League and can now look forward to this match.
Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein: I think the odds were always that it would be a Spanish team. We know Celta pretty well because we played them a few years ago. They were fourth last year in the Spanish league so they are a good team. It could have been worse but there is no easy game in the last 16 in Europe.
FC Bayern München v Real Madrid CF
Bayern secretary Karl Hopfner: Coming here we always thought we might play against Real Madrid. And it has happened that old friends meet again. We will have the winter break and I am convinced the team will use the time to prepare their best for the two matches against Madrid.
Madrid assistant sporting director Emilio Butragueño: There is a lot of history between the two sides so Real will have to be on top of their game to qualify for the last eight. Bayern are a very strong team and if we had the choice we would rather have faced them later in the competition.
RC Deportivo La Coruña v Juventus FC
Deportivo official Luis Sánchez: We are proud to be among the best 16 teams in Europe and Juventus will be a great opponent. We have met them before and we have a good relationship with their people. It is a good tie and may the best team win.
FC Lokomotiv Moskva v AS Monaco FC
Monaco captain Ludovic Giuly: Moscow are the team we wanted to play. On paper they are perhaps the weakest team. Now we will have to beat them if we want to advance to the next round.
Lokomotiv technical director Hasan Bidzheiv: We are satisfied even if Monaco are a big club with a good tradition. During the winter break it is difficult for us to find friendly games which is a handicap for us. It will give us time to find out more about our next opponents.
Real Sociedad de Fútbol v Olympique Lyonnais
Sociedad president Jose Luis Astiazaran: We will do everything we can to find out about Lyon and try to get through. They will obviously be a difficult opponent – it is not for nothing that they have won the last two French championships. But we know a bit about French football as our coach, Raynald Denoueix, comes from that league and that will work in our favour.
Former Lyon forward Bernard Lacombe: Real Sociedad have not performed well in the league this season and are 18th in their league. But we must be cautious because they have looked very dangerous in Europe. We will have to be on top of our game and take full advantage of the fact the second leg is at home.
AC Sparta Praha v AC Milan
AC Sparta Praha coach Jirí Kotrba: AC Milan have everything - a big name, a nice stadium and famous players. I am glad we will start at home in front of a full house. The fans could not wish for more.
Milan spokesman Alessandro Spagnolo: It is good for us. A good draw. We are satisfied. It is a nice place for the team and the fans to travel to.
