UEFA Champions League contenders PFC CSKA Sofia have signed Sergej Jakirovic from NK Zagreb in a deal reportedly worth €250,000.
The 28-year-old defensive midfielder has penned a two-year contract with Miodrag Jesic's side, who face champions Liverpool FC in the third qualifying round second leg at Anfield on 23 August. The English Premiership side lead 3-1 after the first encounter last week.
The move caps an eventful week for Jakirovic, who is in line to make his international debut for Bosnia-Herzegovina in the friendly against Estonia in Tallinn on Wednesday. Changes are afoot at CSKA too, and while he arrives, 31-year-old Georgian midfielder Amiran Mujiri is leaving on a free transfer to Kallithea FC.
