Article body
Real Madrid CF right-back Míchel Salgado's is a major doubt for Tuesday's UEFA Champions League visit to Rosenborg BK after he sustained a suspected fractured jaw bone during Saturday's 2-0 victory at Real Betis Balompié.
Blow to the chin
Salgado took a blow to the chin from Betis striker Ricardo Oliveira and had to go off on 82 minutes. The defender had only just returned to the side after missing three matches due to a torn hamstring. If the injury keeps Salgado out, Uruguayan international Carlos Diogo is expected to deputise. The Spanish defender is the latest addition to a worrying injury list for Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo, who is already without Ronaldo, Julio Baptista, Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham.
