Perrotta pens new Roma deal

AS Roma received some cheer ahead of their return to the UEFA Champions League as Italy midfielder Simone Perrotta signed a two-year contract extension.

AS Roma received good news on the eve of their return to the UEFA Champions League as Italy midfielder Simone Perrotta signed a two-year contract extension until 2010.

Shakhtar first
The 28-year-old FIFA World Cup winner joined Roma in the summer of 2004 and has played 66 Serie A games for the Giallorossi, scoring eight goals. Perrotta, who has also represented AC Chievo Verona, AS Bari, Juventus and Reggina Calcio, should feature in Roma's Group D match against FC Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.
