Borowski undaunted by Barça trip

Tim Borowski is confident that Werder Bremen can get the draw they need at FC Barcelona next week to earn a place in the UEFA Champions League's last 16.

Chelsea qualify
Bremen's 1-0 win against Chelsea FC on Matchday 5 has left the German side level with the Londoners at the top of Group A with ten points - two clear of Barcelona. Chelsea, who play PFC Levski Sofia on Matchday 6, are already sure of qualification, while Bremen visit the Camp Nou knowing that a draw will see them through at the holders' expense.

'We can be proud'
Borowski believes Bremen can get the required result. "We have worked really hard to get ourselves into this position and we can be really proud of what we have achieved so far," the Germany midfielder told uefa.com. "We will take a lot of confidence into the match and we definitely won't be going to Barcelona to lose. We want to play our game and hopefully we will get the result we want."

Mertesacker strike
Bremen took plenty of heart from their defeat of Chelsea last time out. Per Mertesacker's 27th-minute header proved enough for victory, and Borowski is quick to hail his team-mates' efforts. "We kept things nice and tight and forced Chelsea to play the ball through us, which they didn't seem to like," said the 26-year-old.

Clean sheets
Bremen's clean sheet against Chelsea was their third successive UEFA Champions League shutout. A defence that has leaked only three goals in five games will likely face its toughest test at the Camp Nou, yet Borowski feels the presence of goalkeeper Tim Wiese could prove a telling factor against Ronaldinho and company. "When Chelsea broke through our defence we could rely on Tim," he said. "He made some very important saves." Bremen will be hoping for more of the same on Tuesday.
