Confirmation
Dida damaged his right shoulder during Milan's Italian Cup defeat at AS Roma on 31 January and had hoped to return in time for the first knockout round encounter. Instead, the Brazilian international, 31, must target the second leg on 7 March as his comeback date, leaving new signing Marco Storari between the sticks in Glasgow. "Dida will not make it," Ancelotti told reporters.
Striking news
The 29-year-old Storari has appeared just once for the Rossoneri since arriving from FC Messina Peloro. Dida's regular understudy, Zeljko Kalac, remains sidelined with a knee problem. There was better news for Milan, however, as Ancelotti has confirmed that Filippo Inzaghi will be available next Tuesday – the veteran striker has not played since hurting his right thigh in the same cup game against Roma. Ancelotti said: "Inzaghi should make it."
Precaution
Another of Milan's thirtysomethings, midfielder Clarence Seedorf, will sit out Saturday's Serie A visit to AC Siena due to a thigh complaint but should be ready for the Celtic match. "It is nothing serious and he will be OK for the Champions League," explained the coach. The Rossoneri are also likely to be deprived of defenders Alessandro Nesta and Serginho in both meetings with Celtic, that duo having undergone shoulder and hernia operations respectively in December.
