AS Roma captain Francesco Totti will miss the UEFA Champions League Group F visit to FC Dynamo Kyiv on Tuesday after failing to recover from a foot injury suffered in training.
Misses game
Totti lasted just 15 minutes on his return to first-team practice on Thursday, after taking a knock on the same foot he injured in the 2-1 win against Sporting Clube de Portugal on 23 October. Although x-rays after the initial injury revealed no fracture in his right foot, the player was in too much pain to train for the rest of the week. After close monitoring, the 31-year-old has been ruled out of the match in Ukraine, where Roma could seal their place in the last 16.
Positive news
There was some good news for the Giallorossi, however, as midfielders Taddei and Alberto Aquilani both resumed training, though Aquilani will also not travel to Kiev. Neither player featured in the 1-0 defeat of Genoa CFC on Saturday.
