Totti was forced out after 31 minutes of Sunday's 3-2 defeat at Calcio Catania, which ended a run of eight victories in all competitions, leaving the pitch holding the back of his right thigh. An initial scan yesterday showed up a strain that was expected to keep the striker out for a short period but further examinations on Tuesday revealed the extent of the injury and the 32-year-old has been ruled out for between 40 and 60 days. Roma travel to Arsenal on 24 February before the home return on 11 March, and Gunners captain Cesc Fàbregas looks set to miss the tie due to an injury revealed on Tuesday.
