Sporting Clube de Portugal face the coming fortnight without talismanic Brazilian striker Liedson after tests confirmed that the 31-year-old sprained his knee during Saturday's goalless draw at CD Trofense.
Bayern meeting
Liedson limped off 16 minutes from time against the Liga strugglers at Estádio de Alvalade after hurting his left knee and Sporting are bracing themselves for "at least 15 days" without the striker. That means he will miss Wednesday's Portuguese League Cup semi-final against Liga leaders FC Porto at Estádio de Alvalade and Sunday's Liga meeting with SC Braga. With an eye on their UEFA Champions League meeting with FC Bayern München on 25 February, Sporting say they will know more about the extent of the injury by Friday.
