Barça lose Iniesta for Lyon trip

Andrés Iniesta has been ruled out of the first leg of FC Barcelona's UEFA Champions League first knockout round tie away to Olympique Lyonnais this coming Tuesday after sustaining a left thigh strain during training.

Midfield player Andrés Iniesta has been ruled out of the first leg of FC Barcelona's UEFA Champions League first knockout round tie away to Olympique Lyonnais on Tuesday after straining his left thigh during training yesterday.

Previous problem
The 24-year-old underwent tests today, leaving club medics to estimate a return in around 15 days. Iniesta has already missed two months of this season with a ruptured right thigh sustained during a home draw against FC Basel 1893 in early November. Since his return from that injury in January, the Spanish international is the only player to appear in all 12 of Liga leaders Barça's fixtures in 2009. Iniesta is expected to be fit for the visit of Lyon to Camp Nou on 11 March.
