Perea a doubt for Porto tie

Club Atlético de Madrid could be without Colombian defender Luis Perea for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League first knockout round tie against FC Porto on 11 March after he fractured his left cheekbone.

Perea, who is suspended for Tuesday's first leg in Madrid, had to be taken off on a stretcher after a collision with Ndri Romaric of Sevilla FC in Saturday's match at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuan, which Atlético lost 1-0. The player momentarily lost consciousness after the clash of heads in the third minute and, after receiving first-aid treatment on the field, was taken to the Virgen del Rocío hospital in Seville for a series of overnight tests, the results of which were "positive" according to the club's medical staff.
