ACF Fiorentina have signed midfielder Cristiano Zanetti from Juventus for €2m, with the 32-year-old jumping at the chance of rejoining his former team.
'Delighted'
The ex-Italian international, who has agreed to a two-year contract at Fiorentina, came through the club's youth system and returns to the Viola after a 13-year hiatus. "I told [Juve coach] Ciro Ferrara that I couldn't say no to Fiorentina," Zanetti said. "I'm delighted to return to Florence." Zanetti started just nine times for Juve in Serie A last season, his third in Turin after signing from FC Internazionale Milano. Cesare Pranelli's side face Sporting Clube de Portugal in the UEFA Champions League play-offs on 18 and 26 August.
