R. Standard de Liège have signed Ricardo Rocha on a free transfer with the Portuguese defender penning a deal until the end of the season.

Bölöni nemesis
The 30-year-old Rocha, capped six times by his country, was released by Tottenham Hotspur FC in June after just 14 league appearances in two and a half years with the London club. Standard coach Laszlo Bölöni is no stranger to the former SL Benfica stopper, as Rocha scored his only two goals for SC Braga in either league meeting against Bölöni's Sporting Clube de Portugal in the 2001/02 season. Standard meet Olympiacos FC, AZ Alkmaar and Arsenal FC in UEFA Champions League Group H, with the London side first up in Belgium on 16 September.
