Club Atlético de Madrid coach Quique Sánchez Flores may miss next week's UEFA Champions League Group D game at APOEL FC after tests confirmed he had contracted swine flu.
'Undergoing treatment'
The 44-year-old has been kept away from training this week after succumbing to the H1N1 virus, with his assistant Fran Escribá overseeing sessions. A club statement said: "The coach is undergoing treatment for the illness and his recovery is going well." Victory in Cyprus next Wednesday would guarantee Atlético a place in the UEFA Europa League Round of 32 as the third-placed side in the section, with their chances of reaching the UEFA Champions League first knockout round already gone.
