FC Twente defender Bart Buysse has been sidelined for six weeks with torn ankle ligaments.
The 23-year-old left-back was injured in training on Tuesday and, after hospital tests, his absence was confirmed by the Dutch champions. A summer signing from SV Zulte Waregem in his native Belgium, Buysse has managed only two Eredivisie appearances for Twente this season and will be absent for the Group A trip to Tottenham Hotspur FC on Wednesday and the visit of SV Werder Bremen on 20 October.
He will also struggle to make it to Germany for the return fixture against Bremen on 2 November. Twente's debut group stage campaign began with a 2-2 home draw with FC Internazionale Milano, in which Buysse was an unused substitute.
