Kurban Berdyev declared himself "satisfied" with FC Rubin Kazan's narrow victory against second-placed FC København which lifted the Russian club to within a point of their opponents in UEFA Champions League Group D. The Rubin coach, though acknowledging his side were not at their best, felt the hosts won "deservedly", while opposite number Ståle Solbakken rued the inexperience which led to his team conceding the first-half penalty with which Christian Noboa settled the contest.

Kurban Berdyev, Rubin coach
I'm generally satisfied with our display and commitment; we won deservedly. We played to hold onto what we had at the end. København could have taken their chances but now I am happy with the result. I agree that some times it seemed we were playing against ourselves because København are a very organised team. We had to put in a lot of effort to close them down. They tortured us with crosses from the right in the second half and after [Vitali] Kaleshin got injured we had some problems on the left wing, too. København are a very good side.

If we compare the two games against København, our commitment was better today but in the first match we were better organised and played better football. We were also very solid defensively while tonight we switched play well from defence to attack but just lacked something in front of goal.

Ståle Solbakken, København coach
We conceded a goal at the worst possible time; it was unnecessary and a sign of inexperience. Defensively, we were almost perfect. Unfortunately, we did not really get either Jesper Grønkjær or Dame N'Doye going in attack before half-time. However, they both improved considerably in the second half, and I suppose they were our most dangerous players.
