The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body has imposed a three-match ban on AS Roma's Daniele De Rossi.
The punishment relates to an incident during the Italian club's UEFA Champions League match against FC Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine on 8 March, and the Roma midfielder will serve his suspension in the next three UEFA club competition games in which he is eligible to play.
The Control and Disciplinary Body decided to suspend De Rossi at its meeting this week and after studying all the relevant documents relating to the round of 16 second-leg match.
An appeal may be lodged against the ruling within three days of the dispatch of the reasoned decision.
