Not wonderful, but not bad either. My 'Tribalistas' earned 75 points last time out but it is already time to make some crucial changes in the squad with matchday three and four – when teams face the same opponents twice in succession – in mind.

First of all, however, I have to check the situation with injuries. I will have to find a new defender as Daniel Carvajal is out for Real Madrid. With Porto facing debutants Maccabi Tel-Aviv twice in a row, I might go for Mexican full-back Miguel Layún.

I will stick with my two goalkeepers Jan Oblak and Asmir Begović. I think  Atlético Madrid have good chances to keep clean-sheets against debutants Astana and I'm confident José Mourinho will turn things around at Chelsea. This is why I should also decide to maintain their team-mates Diego Godín and Branislav Ivanović in defence.

Midfield was certainly my strongest point in the previous rounds, especially thanks to Daniel Caligiuri, Juan Mata and Douglas Costa. I'm also confident that Juan Cuadrado can do well for Juventus against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the next two matches.

Alan Dzagoev did not bring me the points I expected from him despite CSKA Moskva's convincing win and he could be my only change in midfield as I expect two difficult battles for the Russian side against Manchester United. Porto's André André – less expensive than Dzagoev – could be the answer.

The move would give me some cash to make some changes in my attack, where the red-hot Robert Lewandowski is obviously going to keep his place. I'm also planning to keep faith with youngster Anthony Martial, so Roma's Mohamed Salah could be the one to leave.

Roma are scoring freely in recent Serie A games but it will not be easy against Bayer Leverkusen and Salah has found a tough competitor in in-form Gervinho for his role in attack. Players who could make my case – and my budget – are Vincent Aboubakar (Porto) and Bas Dost (Wolfsburg).
