Jorge Jesus, Sporting coach
We have put a lot of thought into this game. We are playing one of the strongest teams in Europe. Dortmund have great attacking players, like Ousmane Dembélé, Mario Götze and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. They are a very strong team offensively.

Predicting the result is an impossible task. My players are going to give everything they have as they look to win what is a very important match – we have total confidence in our own capabilities. This game could be a decisive one for both teams' chances.

Highlights: Dortmund 2-2 Real Madrid

Thomas Tuchel, Dortmund coach
Sporting are a very complete team. They are strong technically, robust defensively and with Bas Dost up front, dangerous in attack. They have a very experienced coach and team, and players who are good on the ball like Gelson Martins.

I saw Sporting play against Real Madrid, when they were unlucky and lost so late. They have our complete respect. The situation with our injuries is what it is and each individual injury has its own story, but I have strong players at my disposal and I am confident in the team I will put out tomorrow.

Words emanating from the two camps camp point to this fixture – and the return in Germany on 2 November – being pivotal to both sides' UEFA Champions League hopes this season. Dortmund will be missing several key players through injury yet Sporting must also plan without talisman Adrien Silva. The key to success will lie in who adapts best.
