Madrid respond to Barcelona, Juventus into final

BAYERN V REAL MADRID

Hoffenheim 1-0 Bayern (Kramarić 21)
Andrej Kramarić's dipping effort – the first league goal conceded by Bayern since 18 February – condemned the Bavarians to only their second Bundesliga reverse of the season, ending their 20-match unbeaten run in all competitions. Robert Lewandowski stabbed Kingsley Coman's cross against the bar before the break and was denied after the restart by a fine fingertip save from Oliver Baumann.

Leganés 2-4 Real Madrid(Gabriel 32, Luciano Neves 34; James Rodríguez 15, Morata 18 23 48)
Zinédine Zidane's men, without Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema, maintained their place at the top of the Liga having taken their run of scoring to 51 successive games in all competitions. Álvaro Morata was the main man on this occasion, plundering a hat-trick which started with a looping header and was rounded off with the aid of a heavy deflection. El Clásico, scheduled for 23 April, looms large on the horizon.

JUVENTUS V BARCELONA

Napoli 3-2 Juventus (Higuaín 32, 58; Hamšík 53, Mertens 61, Insigne 67)
Juve needed all of the 3-1 lead they had built up at home in the first leg of this Coppa Italia semi-final tie to scrape their way into a showpiece meeting with Lazio in June. Gonzalo Higuaín scored two fine goals against his former employers as these two sides met for the second time in four days; they had shared a 1-1 draw in Serie on Sunday.

Barcelona 3-0 Sevilla (Suárez 25, Messi 28 33)
Luis Enrique's men briefly leapfrogged Madrid due to their earlier kick-off, but finished Wednesday where they had started it, in second, two points off Madrid. Luiz Suárez's close-range overhead kick set them on their way, Lionel Messi then adding two of his own – the second a thumping volley – in quick succession. Sevilla's misery was compounded when Vitolo was sent off late on.

ATLÉTICO MADRID V LEICESTER CITY

Atlético 1-0 Real Sociedad (Filipe Luís 28)
Having broken his duck for the season at the weekend, left-back Filipe Luís made it two goals in as many games – his best return in a league campaign since scoring three for Deportivo La Coruña in 2009/10. Atlético remain third in the Liga.

Leicester City 2-0 Sunderland (Slimani 69, Vardy 78)
Craig Shakespeare oversaw his sixth straight win as Leicester boss since replacing Claudio Ranieri last month. Both of the Foxes' goals were fashioned by Marc Albrighton, who was introduced alongside Islam Slimani after 62 minutes. Jamie Vardy continued his good form by scoring for the third successive Premier League fixture.

DORTMUND V MONACO

Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Hamburg (Castro 13, Kagawa 81, Aubameyang 90+2)
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang moved ahead of Lewandowski at the top of the Bundesliga scorers' chart. The Gabon striker's 25th of the campaign sealed a victory that keeps the Schwarzgelben within a point of third-placed Hoffenheim.

Monaco 2-1 LOSC Lille (Germain 35 45; El Ghazi 90)
Valère Germain's double secured Monaco a place in the semi-finals of the French Cup. The captain's goals sandwiched a red card for LOSC's Carlens Arcus, who was dismissed for a foul on Jorge. Radamel Falcao replaced Germain late on for his first appearance since sustaining a hip injury on 11 March.
