Preview: Anderlecht v Galatasaray

It is all to play for as RSC Anderlecht host Galatasaray AŞ, with both teams knowing only a win can preserve their last-16 hopes – even then they need Arsenal FC to lose.

Permutations: Anderlecht (2pts) v Galatasaray (1)
Anderlecht need to win both their remaining games and hope Arsenal do not pick up another point. However, a victory ensures Anderlecht at least third place.
Galatasaray need to win, hope Arsenal lose, and then beat the Gunners on 9 December by a scoreline that gives them the head-to-head advantage on the London side.

Besnik Hasi, Anderlecht coach
We are not favourites. If we start with the idea that we will easily win, we will not make it. We will not underestimate Galatasaray. We won't think of the position we'll achieve in the group, we'll only think about beating Galatasaray – the only thing that matters.

Five of the best: second-half comebacks

In this group we have deserved to lose only against Borussia Dortmund. We should have got more points in our other games. I'm happy with my team as we've played well in Europe – we're a young team but we're brave. At the beginning of our campaign, after the draw, everyone thought the worst, zero points, but we've already got two points and we've deserved more.

We lost in Charleroi at the weekend and played badly but now it's another story, a European game, and we'll see if we're ready to achieve a good result. Galatasaray have another game after this, at home to Arsenal, and we have to play our last game in Dortmund.

Steven Defour is ready to play [despite a calf injury]. All my players are important but in such a young team Defour give us more balance and the tempo of the game. He is very important for winning back possession.

Cesare Prandelli, Galatasaray coach
I am anticipating a very tough match. Anderlecht are a young team, they know how to play and they have technical players. I like Anderlecht a lot but we are here to win.

Being a footballer is a fantastic job – they only need to think of their opponents and when they run they do not feel the pressure. I hope tomorrow our fans will see a team doing everything to win with firm belief.

We have to attack any spaces and create intensity. Whether we play with two or three forwards is not important; everything depends on our attacking attitude. Ultimately, we are [third] in the table in Turkey with one point fewer than the others; in the Champions League we need only a win to get back on track.
