The top clubs in some of Europe's most prestigious leagues had their momentum checked this weekend, with Premier League juggernauts Chelsea FC conceding a last-gasp leveller in a 1-1 draw at Manchester United FC. Bundesliga leaders FC Bayern München also had to content themselves with a point, which was one more than Liga frontrunners FC Barcelona were able to claim in their 3-1 Clásico loss at Real Madrid CF.

• Juventus climbed three points clear of AS Roma in Serie A thanks to a 2-0 defeat of US Città di Palermo.
