AFC Ajax have announced the signing of South African teenager Stanton Lewis.

The 18-year-old forward has agreed a four-year deal and arrives from the Dutch club's satellite team Ajax Cape Town, where he played since joining from Orlando Pirates at the age of 14. He will not go straight into the senior squad, but will start at Jong Ajax, the club's reserve side. Lewis has already represented Jong Ajax in the Copa Amsterdam tournament in June. Ajax enter the 2006/07 UEFA Champions League in the third qualifying round.
