Celtic lose Agathe for Lyon

Didier Agathe will miss Celtic FC's decisive Group A game at Olympique Lyonnais with a hamstring strain.

Winger Didier Agathe will miss Celtic FC's final UEFA Champions League Group A game at Olympique Lyonnais on 10 December after a scan this afternoon confirmed a strain in his left hamstring.

Six-week absence
The 28-year-old was forced to leave the field in the 63rd minute of Celtic's goalless draw at home to FC Bayern München last night after pulling up. It is expected the hamstring problem will sideline the Frenchman for between four and six weeks, ruling him out of Scottish Premier League games against Partick Thistle FC, Livingston FC, Dundee FC and Motherwell FC.

Midfield worry
Agathe's injury represents a further blow to Celtic manager Martin O'Neill, who is already without midfield player Alan Thompson through suspension for the decisive game in Lyon. Celtic currently lead Group A with seven points from five games, but Lyon and RSC Anderlecht have the same total and Bayern are just a point adrift.
