Inter short of options

Internazionale FC's Andrés Guglielminpietro will be out for two months.

Internazionale FC's Argentinian midfield player Andrés Guglielminpietro will be out of action for two months after injuring his left foot.

No surgery
A report on Inter's website said that the 28-year-old left-winger Guglielminpietro, also known as 'Guly', suffered the damage during a training session and would need two months to recover fully although no surgery is necessary.

Few options
The news leaves Inter coach Héctor Cúper with few options on the left flank on the eve of the new Serie A season and the club's opening UEFA Champions League first group stage encounter with Rosenborg BK on Tuesday.

Extended deadline
Inter will probably try to use the last two days before the Italian transfer market's extended deadline in order to find cover for Guglielminpietro, otherwise Cúper may be forced to use either Alvaro Recoba or Domenico Morfeo in that position.

League winner
Guglielminpietro, who won the Italian league with Milan AC in 1998/99, joined Internazionale last year and played 23 league matches in the 2001/02 campaign. Inter begin their league season on Saturday against Torino Calcio.
