Five great Benzema goals

TUESDAY 6 APRIL

Karim Benzema (€10.4m) vs Liverpool

The Real Madrid forward's ownership is relatively low at just 6%, which only serves to increase his armband appeal in this contest between two of the European Cup's most successful clubs. Benzema has done it all before having won the UEFA Champions League on four occasions for the Merengues, while he has an impressive record against Liverpool with four goals to his name in three appearances against the English side, including one in the 2018 final. The Frenchman is just one goal behind Raúl González on the list of all-time scorers in the competition and the first leg against Liverpool will be held at Madrid's Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano, where Benzema has scored four of his five goals in the UEFA Champions League this season.
Other options: Mohamed Salah (€11.7m), Diogo Jota (€7.9m)

Watch all of Haaland's Champions League goals

Erling Haaland (€11.1m) vs Manchester City

Haaland will almost certainly be the most highly-captained player on Matchday 9 given his incredible goalscoring record since bursting on to the scene at the start of 2019/20. His two in the round of 16 second leg against Sevilla made him both the fastest and youngest player to reach 20 goals in the UEFA Champions League, having achieved that feat in just 14 games. Dortmund's quarter-final opponents Manchester City boast one of the meanest defences in Europe this season but in Haaland they are facing a confident and dangerous striker who will be eager to score against a side where his father, Alf-Inge, once plied his trade.
Other options: Kevin De Bruyne (€11.3m), İlkay Gündoğan (€6.6m)

WEDNESDAY 7 APRIL

Bayern v Paris past meetings

Leroy Sané (€9.5m) vs Paris Saint-Germain

There are several appealing captaincy candidates from the mouthwatering repeat of last season's final, but speedy winger Leroy Sané gets the nod with the Bayern star having registered three goals and an assist in the UEFA Champions League this season. Due to the injury-enforced absence of Bayern's top scorer Robert Lewandowski, the onus will be on the holders' other attackers to find a way through the Paris defence and Sané is expected to be at the forefront of that. Although he has plenty of competition in the wide areas from the likes of Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry, Sané has started Bayern's last four games in the competition and, with an ownership of just 2%, has undeniable differential appeal as a captain.
Other options: Kylian Mbappé (€11.0m), Neymar (€11.6m)

Kai Havertz (€8.9m) vs Porto

While Thomas Tuchel has rightly received plaudits for how he has improved Chelsea's defensive stability since his appointment as manager in January, he has also made some notable changes in the attacking areas and summer signing Kai Havertz has been one of the beneficiaries. The 21-year-old has taken some time to find his feet at the Premier League club but looks to be flourishing now and he has even been played as a false nine recently, with Tuchel commenting that this could be his best position. He was on target for his country on international duty recently and could be the man to unlock the Porto defence on Matchday 9.
Other options: Mason Mount (€6.9m), Moussa Marega (€7.9m)
