Pick your Fantasy captain for Matchday 6

TUESDAY 7 DECEMBER

Highlights: Club Brugge 0-5 Leipzig

Christopher Nkunku (€8.2m) vs Manchester City (H)

Leipzig's hopes of qualifying for the round of 16 may be over but they still have a job to do if they are to secure third place in Group A and a spot in the UEFA Europa League. With that in mind, Nkunku looks to be a clear captaincy choice given that he has scored more #UCLfantasy points than any other player this season. The Frenchman will have fond memories of facing Manchester City, having scored a hat-trick against them on Matchday 1 in a 6-3 defeat and has added a further four strikes to his tally since then. Leipzig's opponents, who have already secured top spot in Group A, are yet to keep a clean sheet in the UEFA Champions League this season.

Highlights: Manchester City 2-1 Paris

Mauro Icardi (€8.3m) vs Club Brugge (H)

Paris will finish second in their group, so trying to predict their starting line-up against Club Brugge is no easy task. Fortunately for #UCLfantasy managers, this is one of the early fixtures on Tuesday so team sheets will be revealed ahead of the Matchday 6 deadline. With Neymar injured, the likes of Lionel Messi (€11.3m) and Kylian Mbappé (€10.8m) are obvious candidates having accounted for five goals and three assists between them in the group stage so far, but should they be rested then Icardi could benefit. The Argentinian have had to wait for his opportunity but should he feature on Matchday 6 then he will look to make the most of his chance against the leakiest defence in the UEFA Champions League this season.

WEDNESDAY 8 DECEMBER

Highlights: Barcelona 0-0 Benfica

Darwin Núñez (€7.6m) vs Dynamo Kyiv (H)

Benfica have every chance of advancing from Group E if they claim the three points against Dynamo Kyiv on Matchday 6 so targeting their assets could be a smart approach for #UCLfantasy managers. Currently their top scorer this season in all competitions, Núñez has featured in all five of the Portuguese side's UEFA Champions League matches this season, scoring three goals, and although he has only started two of those matches, his recent form demands attention. With Benfica needing three points against a Dynamo Kyiv team who are yet to win in this season's group stage, those willing to take a chance on the 1%-owned striker could profit from some significant Fantasy returns.

Highlights: Young Boys 3-3 Atalanta

Duván Zapata (€9.8m) vs Villarreal (H)

Atalanta face a simple equation on Matchday 6; beat Villarreal and they will be in the round of 16. With Gian Piero Gasperini's side famed for their attacking style of football, this fixture is set up perfectly for goals and #UCLfantasy managers will be looking to take advantage. While the in-form Mario Pašalić is a tempting option, it is Zapata who has consistently provided attacking returns throughout the UEFA Champions League group stage. The Colombian has made five attacking contributions in this season's competition – including an assist against final-day opponents Villarreal on Matchday 1 – and is set to spearhead the Italian side's attack in the decisive final fixture.
