Highlights: Milan 0-2 Inter

TUESDAY 16 MAY

Federico Dimarco (€4.7m) vs Milan (H)

Fantasy managers who invested heavily in the Inter defence were rewarded handsomely on Matchday 11. Simone Inzaghi's side came away from the first leg of the 'Derby della Madonnina' with a 2-0 victory against Milan and, among a back line that recorded a clean sheet, the left-sided Dimarco was the biggest benefactor, returning nine points. That first-leg win featured the Italian's fifth assist of the Champions League campaign – more than any other defender.

Olivier Giroud (€8.3m) vs Inter (A)

If Milan are to have any chance of turning the tie around though, then Giroud could well have a significant role. The Frenchman could not find a way past the Inter defence on Matchday 11, but he does have more Fantasy points (48) than any other Milan player heading into Tuesday's return leg. The former Arsenal and Chelsea striker – a Champions League winner with the latter – has started all 11 of Milan's European games this season, recording a 19-point haul against Salzburg on Matchday 6, and with team-mate Rafael Leão's Matchday 12 availability in doubt, Giroud looks to be Milan's best captaincy option at present.

Highlights: Real Madrid 1-1 Man City

WEDNESDAY 17 MAY

Kevin De Bruyne (€10.5m) vs Real Madrid (H)

De Bruyne again delivered on the big occasion in an intriguing first leg against Real Madrid. The Belgian's equaliser from outside the box – coupled with his Player of the Match bonus – brought in 11 Fantasy points, the joint-highest score of the matchday. Should the return leg play out in a similar manner, it could require another moment of magic to make the difference, and De Bruyne looks like one of the likeliest candidates to deliver. The Belgian has four goal involvements in his last four Champions League games, and four Player of the Match awards in the competition this season.

Vinícius Júnior (€10.4m) vs Manchester City (A)

Although a strong argument can be made for De Bruyne to be Wednesday's captaincy choice, the case for Vinícius is set in stone. On Matchday 11 the Brazilian continued his remarkable streak of either scoring or assisting in every Champions League match he has started this season, and his 13 goal involvements overall is matched only by Erling Haaland – the competition's top scorer. No other player can get near the 22-year-old's season total of 91 Fantasy points, with his closest challenger more than 20 behind him, giving the Real Madrid man a real chance of achieving the rare feat of 100 Fantasy points in a season.
