Who should be my Champions League Fantasy Football captain for Matchday 9?

Bukayo Saka, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappé and Antoine Griezmann are among the leading Fantasy captain contenders for the quarter-final first legs.

The UEFA Champions League is down to the last eight teams and, ahead of the first legs of the quarter-finals, UEFA.com picks out some leading captaincy options for managers on #UCLfantasy, presented by Playstation.

Pick your Fantasy team for Matchday 9
Highlights: Arsenal 1-0 FC Porto (4-2 pens)

TUESDAY 9 APRIL

Bukayo Saka (€9.8m) vs Bayern (H)

While some Fantasy managers may shy away from Arsenal's attacking players after the Gunners only scored once across the two legs of their round of 16 tie against Porto, there is much to be said for keeping faith. That is particularly the case with Saka, his team's leading points scorer this season with three double-figure hauls in the group stage, all at home, and on Matchday 9 Arsenal welcome Bayern to north London.

Jude Bellingham (€8.0m) vs Man City (H)

The top midfield points scorer overall is another viable captaincy option on the opening night of Matchday 9, with Bellingham on 55 points overall despite missing two of Real Madrid's eight games. The 20-year-old has produced four goals and four assists, and has been rewarded with three Player of the Match awards. If the last two seasons are any guide, Madrid's tie with Manchester City could be a high-scoring contest, and it would be no surprise if Bellingham was prominent.

Highlights: Real Sociedad 1-2 Paris

WEDNESDAY 10 APRIL

Kylian Mbappé (€11.5m) vs Barcelona (H)

No forward scored more Fantasy points across the round of 16 than Mbappé thanks to three goals and the Player of the Match award in both legs against against Real Sociedad. The France striker is the joint top scorer in the 2023/24 Champions League with six goals, and will no doubt be Paris's main attacking threat against Barcelona. Mbappé has form with the Spanish side, against whom he scored four goals in the 2020/21 round of 16 including a hat-trick in the first leg.

Antoine Griezmann (€10.7m) vs Dortmund (H)

Another France international who has struck six times in the Champions League this season, Griezmann played a key role in guiding Atlético de Madrid past last season's finalists Inter in the round of 16. The quarter-final first leg brings Dortmund to Madrid, where Griezmann has scored five of his six goals, and with two Player of the Match awards there is a strong case to be made for giving him the captaincy should Fantasy managers require a new skipper on Wednesday.
