Article body
The Scout is relying on a number of big names for the resumption of the Champions League with Erling Haaland, Viktor Gyökeres and Kylian Mbappé leading the attack for the penultimate round of league phase fixtures.
Goalkeepers
The two goalkeepers both have home advantage as their respective sides look to close in on a place in the knockout rounds. Marco Carnesecchi (€4.5m) has 28 points thanks to four clean sheets and, though his Atalanta side have conceded in their last two fixtures, their keeper picking up two points on each occasion, the Italian side have a favourable Matchday 7 fixture against Sturm Graz, who have lost five of their six games.
On Wednesday Arsenal welcome GNK Dinamo to north London with David Raya (€5.6m) second in the scoring rankings for goalkeepers having picked up 34 points. Eighteen of those have come at home, where the Spaniard has kept three clean sheets in as many games, although the Gunners will have to be at top form against opponents who have scored eight of their ten league phase goals away from home.
Defenders
Arsenal and Atalanta's fixtures and Champions League form mean both are also represented in defence. Jurriën Timber (€4.4m) offers a budget route into the Gunners' back line, while Sead Kolašinac (€4.8m) is joint third in the defenders' scoring ranking on 41 points. Trent Alexander-Arnold (€6.0m) is a more expensive investment but could deliver at both ends of the pitch as Liverpool welcome LOSC Lille to Anfield; the right-back's 37 points is helped by four clean sheets and an assist.
Alexander-Arnold has also picked up eight points from ball recoveries, one less than Stefan de Vrij (€5.0m), whose Inter side are at Sparta Praha having kept clean sheets in seven of their last eight away matches in all competitions. The defence is completed by budget selection Auston Trusty (€4.0m), who has scored 24 of his 25 points in the last four matches ahead of Celtic's home game against Young Boys.
Midfielders
The triple-up on players from Arsenal and Atalanta is completed in midfield, where Ademola Lookman (€6.7m) has 38 points with three goals and an assist having scored on three of his last four Champions League appearances. Leandro Trossard (€7.0m) has been short of attacking returns in Europe this season with a single goal and assist but has scored one and set up two more in Arsenal's last two Premier League fixtures.
Mohamed Salah (€10.1m) is the Premier League's top scorer on 18 goals and has found the net twice in the Champions League, his four assists helping him to 43 points. Nicolas Kühn (€4.8m) has scored five times in seven Celtic appearances since Matchday 7 while Michael Olise (€6.6m) goes into Bayern München's game at Feyenoord looking to add to his four goals in this season's competition; the winger also has six Bundesliga goals and six assists for the German club.
Forwards
Form is also a key factor up front, Viktor Gyökeres (€7.9m) once again selected as Sporting CP visit eliminated Leipzig. The Swede has five Champions League goals this season and nine in his last ten games in all competitions, making it 42 in 37 matches for club and country in 2024/25.
Erling Haaland (€11.0m) is level with Gyökeres for goals in this season's Champions League and has rediscovered his scoring touch in the Premier League, hitting four goals in his last four matches after three in the previous 13, a timely boost for Manchester City for a potentially pivotal fixture at Paris Saint-Germain. Kylian Mbappé (€10.9m) is also among the goals, scoring twice on Sunday to make it four in his last three games in all competitions; the Frenchman is Madrid's top scorer this season with 18 ahead of Salzburg's visit to the holders.
