AC Milan have begun strengthening for the second half of the season with the acquisition of Italy forward Antonio Cassano from UC Sampdoria.
Cassano, who made his Milan debut in Sunday's 2-1 friendly win against Al-Ahly SC after joining up with the Rossoneri for their winter training camp in Dubai, officially completed the formalities of his move today. The 28-year-old has signed a contract until June 2014 although no transfer fee was disclosed.
Capped 20 times, the former AS Bari, AS Roma and Real Madrid CF striker could make his competitive bow when the Serie A leaders return to league action at Cagliari Calcio on Thursday. Massimiliano Allegri's side host Tottenham Hotspur FC in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie on 15 February. The London return is on 9 March.
