• Yuto Nagatomo started at left-back as Chivu completed his four-match ban, retrospectively given for violent conduct in the win against AS Bari on 3 February.

• Inter have won nine out of nine in all competitions at San Siro since 14 November when Zlatan Ibrahimović scored the only goal as AC Milan ended Inter's 46-game unbeaten run at home in Serie A.

• Inter have won 12 of their 15 fixtures since their 3-0 defeat at SV Werder Bremen. Two came at the FIFA Club World Cup, which the Nerazzurri captured in what was Rafael Benítez's final act as coach. Leonardo was appointed on 24 December and since his arrival a 13-point deficit to Serie A leaders AC Milan has dwindled.

• Inter beat AS Roma 5-3 on 6 February, the highest scoring game in 94 encounters between the sides at San Siro. They will meet again in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, with the first leg away on 20 April before the 11 May return.

• The Nerazzurri lost 1-0 at Juventus on 13 February, their sixth league defeat of the campaign – two more than they suffered in the whole of last term.

• Javier Zanetti made his 520th Serie A appearance for Inter in the 3-2 win against AC Cesena on 19 January, breaking Giuseppe Bergomi's club record.

• Eto'o has scored 31 goals in 39 appearances for club and country this term.

Injury news
• Wesley Sneijder sat out Saturday's game with a minor thigh problem.

• Lúcio (out since 30 January) and Diego Milito (6 February) are sidelined with thigh problems though the former is back in full training.

• MacDonald Mariga (from 26 January) and Dejan Stanković (26 January) returned after thigh knocks on 16 February.

• Walter Samuel could miss the rest of the season after damaging knee ligaments on 6 November.

• Maicon and Sneijder were named in the users' Team of the Year; José Mourinho was elected coach.

• Milito was named Player of the Year at the Italian footballers' association's 2010 Oscar del Calcio awards. Júlio César was selected as best goalkeeper, Samuel best defender, while Maicon claimed the goal of the year gong for his strike against Juventus in April. Mourinho took the best coach prize.

• Eto'o was named African Player of the Year for a record fourth time on 20 December.

Injury news
• Kroos was a substitute at Mainz, his first appearance since injuring his metatarsal on 13 December.

• Thomas Kraft has been ever-present in the starting XI since supplanting Jörg Butt in the Bayern goal during the winter break but was taken off at half-time on Saturday with a head injury. Gomez finished the match but aggravated an ankle problem.

• Miroslav Klose has played five games for Bayern since the end of September because of a hamstring problem.

• Robben made his first appearance of the season on 15 January after recovering from a torn left thigh muscle. A substitute, he replaced Ribéry, who picked up a knee injury that ruled him out of the next three games.

• Diego Contento has not featured since suffering a stress fracture to his spine on 22 January and Rouven Sattelmaier injured his bicep at the start of October but both are back in training.

• Ivica Olić was ruled out for six months after knee surgery on 9 November.
