French international Mathieu Valbuena has been ruled out until January after dislocating his left shoulder during Olympique de Marseille's 1-0 loss at LOSC Lille on Tuesday.
The midfielder has started all of OM's Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League games this term, but his outing in Lille came to a premature end as he was replaced by Giannelli Imbula 17 minutes from time. "He is sidelined for four to six weeks," said Marseille head doctor Christophe Baudot of the 29-year-old, who joins striker André Ayew on the southern club's injury list.
Following five defeats in UEFA Champions League Group F, OM's involvement in 2013/14 European competition will cease next week no matter what the outcome of their home encounter with Borussia Dortmund.
