Zuma sidelined for FCK

A thigh injury will keep South African striker Sibusiso Zuma out of the FC København side until August.

A thigh injury will keep striker Sibusiso Zuma out of the FC København side for several weeks.

Recurring injury
The South African international is set to miss the first three matches of the Danish Superliga season and as well as the first leg of his side's UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie after a persistent injury flared up in a training session with the Danish champions.

Strained muscle
Zuma, who sat out FCK's Danish Super Cup victory over Aalborg BK last night, has strained a muscle in his thigh and is expected to be sidelined for at least three weeks. "What is important now is that he gets rest and gets fit," said FCK coach Hans Backe. "We cannot risk his injury flaring up again."

European opponents
FCK will play either Estonian champions FC Flora or Slovenian champions NK Gorica in their opening Champions League tie on 28 July and 4 August, and it remains to be seen if Zuma will be available for the second of those matches.
