Bayern start with bang, Barça stunned in Bilbao

Bayern München started the Bundesliga season in ominous fashion, Manchester United won again and Barcelona were humbled in Bilbao. We round up Friday's action.

Bayern München started the defence of their Bundesliga crown in impressive fashion, Manchester United made it two wins from two in the Premier League, while Barcelona's Spanish Super Cup hopes look all but over after the first leg. We round up the fortunes of the UEFA Champions League contenders in action on Friday.

Group stage teams:
Athletic Club 4-0 Barcelona
• The Blaugrana have it all to do in the second leg if they are to win the Spanish Super Cup after suffering a heavy defeat in Bilbao.
• UEFA Super Cup winners on Tuesday, Barcelona came back to earth with a bump as Mikel San José's long-distance stunner put the hosts ahead before Aritz Aduriz's hat-trick established a handsome lead for the Lions ahead of Monday's return in the Camp Nou.

Bayern München 5-0 Hamburg
• Thomas Müller scored twice as Hamburg were blown away in the second period.
• Medhi Benatia headed the hosts ahead in 27th minute before Robert Lewandowski (53), Müller (69, 73) and Douglas Costa secured the points in the first Bundesliga match of the season.

Play-off teams:
Aston Villa 0-1 Manchester United
• Louis van Gaal's side made it two Premier League wins from two with a second 1-0 win in a week.
• Adnan Januzaj's shot deflected onto the upright and into the net in the 29th minute. 

Tondela 1-2 Sporting CP
• Sporting opened the Portuguese Liga season with a win thanks to a 95th-minute penalty from Adrien Silva at promoted Tondela.
• Luís Alberto had equalised on 58 minutes, cancelling out João Mário's first-half effort.

Monaco 0-0 LOSC
• Monaco followed up their opening-day victory at Nice with a score-less draw in their first home game of the campaign.

Spartak Moskva 1-2 CSKA Moskva
• CSKA maintained their perfect start to the Premier-Liga season, making it five wins from five with a derby victory at Spartak.
• Sergei Ignashevich and Ahmed Musa were on target for the Army Men, who conceded their first goal this term when Dmitri Kombarov pulled one back from the spot.

Shakhtar Donetsk 0-2 Dnipro
• Shakhtar failed to replace Dynamo Kyiv at the top of the Ukrainian table as they conceded twice late on and saw Vyacheslav Shevchuk dismissed on a disappointing night in Odessa.
• An 84th-minute Matheus goal was added to by Yevhen Seleznyov as the Pitmen suffered their first league defeat of the season in their fifth outing, leaving them two points adrift of leaders Dynamo.

Club Brugge 2-1 Kortrijk
• Added-time goals produced a dramatic finale but Brugge made it two home victories from two thanks to Tuur Dierckx's 92nd-minute winner.
• Sakis Papazoglou had equalised a minute earlier for the visitors after Ruud Vormer's opener.

Gomel 0-0 BATE
• Belarusian Premier League leaders BATE are two league matches without a win after this stalemate at 12th-placed Gomel.
