With 16 minutes remaining Maksim Zhavnerchik put through his own net and deep in added time substitute Ivan Šaponjić gave Partizan brief hope. However, this is the fifth time BATE have gone from the second qualifying round to the group stage, twice more than anyone else.
APOEL 1-1 Astana (agg: 1-2)
