Hairline fracture
Víctor Valdés's 25-year-old deputy broke a bone in his right hand during Barça's pre-season tour of Asia in July. After two months on the sidelines, the club had hoped Jorquera would be able to return to action. But tests revealed a new, hairline fracture which required an operation. Doctors estimate that Jorquera will be unavailable for between six and eight weeks. Third-choice custodian Rubén Martínez will continue to understudy Valdés.
