Rytter brought home by Brøndby

Danish double-winners Brøndby IF have signed right-back Thomas Rytter ahead of the second qualifying round.

Three-and-a-half year contract
The 31-year-old former Danish international right-back arrives from VfL Wolfsburg on a three-and-a-half year contract. His final competitive Wolfsburg appearance came in their UEFA Intertoto Cup first round first leg against SK Sturm Graz earlier this month, but he remains eligible for Brøndby's European fixtures.

'In no doubt'
Rytter, capped four times between 1996 and 2003, has previously played for Lyngby FC and FC København. He said: "I always wanted to end my career in Denmark, and was in no doubt when the opportunity to go to Brøndby came up - there was no reason to talk to other clubs."

Tbilisi trip
Brøndby, who will begin their Champions League campaign on Tuesday with a trip to Georgia to play FC Dinamo Tbilisi, have made two other signings from Bundesliga teams, Swedish midfielder Marcus Lantz from FC Hansa Rostock and striker Kim Christensen from Hamburger SV.

Kahlenberg replacement
However, coach Michael Laudrup says there could be another addition in midfield. "We will probably need a replacement for Thomas Kahlenberg," said the coach, referring to the AJ Auxerre-bound player.
