The 24-year-old, who has played 19 Bundesliga games for Bochum, passed a medical today. Bremen, who lost 2-1 against FC Basel 1893 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie on Wednesday, hope Vander can fill the gap created by Tim Wiese's injury.
Wiese injury
Wiese, a former German Under-21 international, tore cruciate ligaments in his left knee for the second time in a year two weeks ago. He is expected to be out for four to six months.
