Neck strain sidelines Sibon

The PSV Eindhoven striker Gerald Sibon needs to take a three-month break from football to avoid having surgery on a troublesome neck injury.

'Very annoying'
"It's all very annoying," said Sibon, a regular back-up player for coach Guus Hiddink. "Surgery's not an option yet and we have to see if rest can cure it." The former AFC Ajax and Sheffield Wednesday FC striker joined PSV in summer 2004 and scored five times in 19 matches as they won the Eredivisie, adding the Dutch Cup and reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Monaco draw
Sibon has not featured for PSV this season and will miss the majority of the Champions League group stage, with the club learning their three opponents in Monaco on Thursday.
