Double fillip for debutants Thun

FC Thun coach Urs Schönenberger has signed two defenders ahead of the Swiss club's UEFA Champions League debut, Grégory Duruz and Adriano Louis Spadoto.

Champions League experience
The Swiss outfit have picked up defender Grégory Duruz from French second division side RC Amiens. The 28-year-old gained Champions League experience during two seasons at FC Basel 1893, playing against Liverpool FC and FC Spartak Moskva in 2002/03. However, he was unable to establish himself at Amiens, making just 15 league appearances last term.

Brazilian quintet
Thun have also landed 27-year-old Brazilian Adriano Louis Spadoto from Guarani FC in Brazil. A utility player who can operate in defence or midfield, he becomes the fifth Brazilian at the club and joins another former Guarani player, namesake Adriano Faria Pimenta.

Pallas departure
However, David Pallas has left the Bernese Oberland stadium for VfL Bochum 1848 in the German 2. Bundesliga. The 25-year-old defender was allowed to go despite having a year left on his contract after Bochum's Swiss coach Marcel Koller expressed his interest. Pallas spent only half a season at Thun after arriving from FC Zürich in January 2005.
