Fresh setback for Deisler

FC Bayern München's German international midfielder Sebastian Deisler will not play again until January after sustaining a thigh injury in training.

Muscle tear
Deisler suffered a muscle tear to his left thigh during a training session this afternoon and was immediately ruled out of Bayern's final two matches before the winter break, against 1. FSV Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga and TSV Alemannia Aachen in the German Cup.

Fit for Dubai
The 26-year-old German international has been dogged by injuries since joining Bayern from Hertha BSC Berlin in 2002, playing 62 league games in four and a half seasons with the Bavarians. He only returned to action last month after missing the summer's FIFA World Cup due to a serious cartilage complaint. Deisler, who made his first UEFA Champions League appearance of the campaign in the 1-1 draw with FC Internazionale Milano on 5 December, should be fit when Bayern travel to Dubai for their winter training camp on 5 January.
