Dinamo Zagreb do down Domžale again

NK Domžale 0-3 NK Dinamo Zagreb
Croatia's champions won at Slovenian club Domžale this time last year and repeated the feat with three first-half goals.

Croatian champions NK Dinamo Zagreb are on course to repeat their second qualifying round dismissal of NK Domžale from last season after winning the first leg in Slovenia 3-0.

Early lead
Dinamo improved on their 2-1 defeat of Domžale at the same stage of last year's UEFA Champions League through first-half goals from Ivica Vrdoljak, Sammir and Josip Tadić. For all the home side's early pressure, an away victory seemed inevitable once Vrdoljak gave Dinamo an eleventh-minute lead with a shot from 25 metres that surprised goalkeeper Dejan Nemec.

No way back
Nine minutes later, Sammir struck from the penalty spot after Ivan Knezović had impeded the Brazilian No10. Sammir then helped put the result beyond doubt with the assist for Tadić's 40th-minute goal. The nearest Domžale came to a second-half consolation was Andraž Kirm's shot off the crossbar. The third qualifying round appears to be beyond them already.
