Fan Zone

The Fan Zone will be located at City Park Ice Rink and Boating, on the edge of the Lake City Park. It will be the perfect place to drop in for a quick visit or to settle in for the day. Everyone's welcome, whether you're a football fan or just keen to learn about the game – bring your friends, family, colleagues and join us for the ultimate UEFA EURO 2020 party.

The Fan Zone is a family-oriented celebration of football diverse, colourful and lively, just like Budapest itself!

Entry:

Free – no ticket needed but you have to show COVID-19 certification.

If the site reaches full capacity (11,000 spectators), you may need to wait for visitors to leave the Fan Zone before you can enter. While you wait outside, you can visit the Spectacular and the Welcome Zone at Heroes Square.

🚇 Getting to the Fan Zone

Take the time to enjoy a walk or a bike ride from the City Centre and make the most of the famous Andrássy Road (Andrássy út), which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site. You can easily park your bike right by the Fan Zone in the dedicated area.

Heroes Square on metro line M1 is the closest metro station to the Fan Zone. From there, it will only take you a couple of minutes to reach the Fan Zone.

• Yellow taxis are also available nearby.
• There will be no parking around the Fan Zone, so we do not recommend travelling there by car

Let me give you a top tip

The Volkswagen EURO 2020 Map on the official EURO 2020 App is the best place to plan your trip to the Fan Zone, with live travel updates and possible routes for your journey.

The Fan Zone is accessible. There will be a separate viewing area, which can be easily accessed by disabled fans This area is accessible through entrance Number 2.

  • Bags larger than A4 won’t be allowed inside the Fan Zone, so make sure you pack lightly.
  • Please don’t bring any food or drink – there are plenty of tasty and refreshing options to choose from once inside the Fan Zone.
  • The Fan Zone is fully cashless.
  • Don’t hesitate to speak to one of the volunteers, the Volkswagen Mobility Makers, if you need help or have a question.

Upon arrival, all fans will have their temperature taken in order to be able to enter the Fan Zone. If you have a high body temperature, medical staff will be available for further examination to make sure you’re not currently infected with COVID-19.

FAQs

A free bag deposit is available at the Fan Zone entrance. Opening hours are the same as the Fan Zone, and it closes 30 minutes after the Fan Zone closes.

There will be accessible entrances as well as accessible toilets in the Fan Zone.

When inside, you can either pay by credit card, debit card and contactless payments.

Any item you find can be returned to the Lost and Found. If you face any issue, please reach out to one of the Information Points so they can further assist you.

Bags larger than A4 will not be allowed. Personal food and drinks won’t be allowed either. However, there will be many different options to choose from once inside the Fan Zone.

It’s best to get there early as capacity is limited. The Fan Zone operates on a first come, first served basis.

Regulations vary depending on your age and your country of origin.

Hungarian fans who are under 18 years old can enter the Fan Zone when accompanied by an adult and do not need to provide proof of immunity as long as the adult provides their own. Hungarian fans, who are between 16 and 18 years old, or older than 18 years and have got their own Immunity card or the EESZT immunity app, can enter the Fan Zone.

For international fans, either a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken within 72 hours before entering the Fan Zone, a certificate of previous infection (cannot be older than six months) or a proof of vaccination can be used to enter the Fan Zone. Make sure the country providing the vaccination is recognised on the Hungarian government’s website.

You must be able to provide a print copy of your COVID-19 documents and they must either be in Hungarian or in English in order to enter the Fan Zone.

Hungarian and international fans, wearing their COVID-19 wristband, can enter the Fan Zone on the following days: 14, 15, 18, 19, 22, 23, 26 and 27 June.

Face masks aren’t mandatory in the Fan Zone.

If you develop COVID-19 like symptoms after your visit at the Fan Zone, please make sure you self-isolate and follow safety measures outlined by the Hungarian government.

Safety measures will be displayed on giant LED screens. Hand sanitisers will also be available throughout the Fan Zone. However, organisers are counting on personal responsibility to make sure risk is limited during the event.
