The Romanian international sustained the injury in a friendly match in Spain, where Dynamo were preparing for Thursday's UEFA Cup third round second-leg tie against Turkish side Besiktas JK. Dynamo trail 3-1 from the first leg. "I will undergo surgery on 15 December," Cernat said. "I hope to recover by the spring."
Impressive season
Cernat has played 17 domestic games for Dynamo this season, scoring five times. He also scored three times in Dynamo's UEFA Champions League campaign, which ended after the first group stage.
