Rehmer stands by Hertha

Contract option
The 30-year-old defender, who joined Hertha in 1999, is now contracted to the club until 2005, with the club holding the option of an additional year if both parties are satisfied with the situation.

Top-flight experience
With 159 1. Bundesliga appearances to his name and ten goals, Rehmer has played for FC Hansa Rostock, 1. FC Union Berlin, TZ Prenzlauerberg and Empor HO Berlin as well as making 30 appearances for the German national side.

"We are happy that our German international and [FIFA] World Cup finalist will stay with us for the next years as an important member of the team," said Hertha general manager Dieter Hoeness. "I am glad that I can contribute to the club reaching its sporting aims in the next years," added Rehmer.
