New deal
Engelaar's contract was due to expire on 1 July next year but he has now signed a new deal until the summer of 2007. The 24-year-old said: "The fact that we agreed a contract within a week says a lot about the relationship between the club and me."
'Can still get better'
NAC coach Ton Lokhoff said of Engelaar, a goalscoring midfield player: "He is still young, so he can still get much better, and seeing that he already has had a very good season in which he scored a lot, we can expect a lot from him."
Major impact
Engelaar, a former Feyenoord youth player, joined NAC in summer 2000 and made a major impact last season with 12 goals in 33 appearances.
